Cloud Computing
Nowadays,
instead of building many costly infrastructures around our home, business areas,
and offices, it is inevitable to have
such a less expensive and more secured
(compared to other physical storages) computing resources (machines) like virtual
machines (VMs). The paper will do:
rubric #1, 2, 3, and give a brief conclusion.
Yes. There are definite characteristics of organizations
that are more likely to use cloud computing than other organizations. According to King
(n.d), the author suggested that organizations with the following six reasons
usually stick to buy and use CC than other organizations. 1. Keeping focus on
their business means organizations are realizing that running an IT department
is not their core competency. They are better in different field of that business. 2. Business liveliness of organizations
with significant technology investments can find
themselves unable to take advantage of shifts in the market or respond to
competitive pressures because the capital, people or time are not available in
the measure needed to react. 3. Reducing capital expenditures of big capital investments which can be unaffordable
costs for small business at the beginning. 4. Scaling of organizations that
have highest seasons or different periodical staffing
demands can benefit from cloud services by letting them temporarily dial up
more volume for the periodical business peaks. 5. Accessing from anywhere
gives a capability not to be determined by location, distance, and borders. 6. Staffing
competence of organizations can have unlimited access for different
specialization in case of outsourcing. The paper rationalized and discussed
that CC has five characteristics. The first one is on-demand self-service. It
is a computing capability without physical interaction with a service provider
and automatic. Secondly, it is a broad network access that can be used in many different web accessing
applications. Next, its rapid elasticity
that enables availability for provisioning often appear to be unrestricted and
can be taken in any size at any period. Further, it has resource pooling that
has sense of location independence in that the
customer generally has no control or knowledge over the exact location of the
provided resources but may be able to specify location at a higher level of
abstraction. Lastly, it has a measured - services. CC systems
robotically control and optimize resource use by
leveraging a metering capability at some level of abstraction appropriate to
the type of service (Chabrow, 2011).
Rubric
#2
Yes.
The selected companies should use cloud computing. According to LevelCloud
(2018), the author discussed that the advantages and the disadvantages of CC is illustrated in table 1 below.
Table 1
Advantages and Disadvantages of CC

1, Reliability/ no host failure |
1,
Limited Control/ over back-end infrastructure |

2, Cost saving/ zero in-house server |
2,

The nation’s top law enforcement agency (FBI
and CIA) is seeking industry input on how to use cloud services (like iaas, paas,
and saas) to achieve its goals of boosting performance and deriving insights
from big data. The rationale of the paper indicated that the organization will
have on-demand, broad network access with resource pooling and rapid elasticity.
Second, they want to have a catalog of innovative application, data,
middleware, and operating system options available in the commercial
marketplace. Thirdly, they want to equip their work environment with middleware
tools, including identity management, security management, log analysis, and
auditing. Next, they thrive to have operational excellence in meeting the
intelligence community’s security requirements for handling a data in secret. Further, they need to have faster
application development and capabilities to support big data management and
cognitive computing of AI. Lastly, they will have the establishment of Petabyte-scale
data processing (Cornillie, 2018).
Rubric #3
Yes.
Government agencies such as the National Security Agency (NSA) or Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA) would be good candidates for cloud computing. The
paper on rubric #2 above rationalized and determined that CIA is one of the
candidates. Regarding NSA, the article
suggested that it is another candidate.
We
found at NSA – and the FBI and CIA – a group of incredibly talented people,
incredibly dedicated to protecting this country. We found people who were working every day to find terrorists, to detect people trafficking in weapons of mass
destruction, people engaged in nuclear proliferation, people involved in trafficking in humans, engaged in human rights violations (Fontana,
2014).
Conclusion
The
paper did rubric #1, 2, 3, and 4.
